Dr Eugenia Stamboliev is a philosopher of technology and a media scholar at the University of Vienna and at the Prague University of Business and Economics. Her research focuses on the ethical and democratic aspects of 'artificial intelligence' (AI) and digital infrastructures, moving between philosophical traditions and media theory. She looks at concepts like un/trustworthiness, visibility, democracy and gender inequality.
In 2025, she was a visiting professor at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus (DE) while in 2026, she is a visiting research fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) (UK). She holds degrees in media and communication studies from the Arts University Berlin (DE) and a doctorate in transdisciplinary studies philosophy from the University of Plymouth (UK).
Eugenia is a board member of Women in AI Austria and advises national projects on AI development.
